Davis Vertical Feed Treadle Sewing Machine NVF

WOW! It's been a month since I typed up and published a page on here. I'm still here and busy as heck with several sewing machines that I am servicing, parting out, or working on purchasing. So for the next few posts I will do separate posts for each machine. I am the owner of way too many sewing machines now, BUT the good thing is that I am also working on learning how to properly care for neglected machines so they can possibly be used again. So on with the blog and this new to me OLD machine. Please note that these are the 'before' pictures. I haven't started cleaning and preserving the machine or cabinet yet. If anyone has any hint on the year of this machine by the serial number, please post a comment.

    I have a Davis NVF too. Treadles so easily but it's as loud as a freight train. Well it's louder than any of my other treadles lol.

    Do you have parts for a Vertical feed NVF? I'm looking for the gear that is inside the stitch length knob. Its part #is nvf110. Thanks.

    I have the same davis sewing machine. I am fixing mine up too. It was my grandmothers, I got it when she passed. My question is do you know what kind of key works the locks on the drawers. Good luck hope you get yours working and looking great.

      The key to my Grandmother's cabinet (same machine) is three-sided. Looking straight on at the tip, it is a triangle.

    I also have this machine, which was my granmother's. I will be restoring it in March 2017 at a VSM workshop. I have the key to her cabinet. The end of it is three-sided. Looking straight on at the tip, it looks like a triangle.

    Can you tell me why my vertical feed sewing machine needle does not feed the material as I sew. It appears to just go up and down. It does not move forward or back. It just goes up and down in place.
